Swimming Lessons

Our first session of swim lessons begins June 7th 2021! Registration will be open online and in person at the pool starting April 26th 2021 at 4pm. Announcements will be made on Facebook and this page when all times and classes are finalized.

 

Registration Information

Swim lessons Session 1 begins June 7th, 2021

Registration in person starting: April 26th, 2021 at 4pm.

Swim Lessons consists of 9 classes. Monday through Friday the first week of the session and Monday through Thursday the second week. Nine classes are scheduled per session, there is one day after the scheduled session reserved for a make-up day due to bad weather (second Friday). Although nine classes are scheduled, a session is considered completed if eight classes are taught.

Swimming Class Descriptions

This list is a brief description of what each class teaches. It is not a comprehensive list. Requirements to pass the class may include other requirements in addition to those listed. These classes also may be modified depending on most up to date regulations in place.

Parent and Child Swimming

(Ages 6 months-3 years) This class is designed to acclimate small children/infants to the water environment. Swimming and safety skills will be taught. Activities provide opportunities for child and parent to interact and develop a positive aquatic experience. Our instructors will be on the deck teaching as parents are in the water with their children.

Preschool

(Ages 3-5) This class is for the non-swimmer who is uncomfortable in the water. This class will help participants fell more comfortable in the water and enjoy the water safely. Some of the requirements to pass this class may inlcude but not limited to blowing bubbles, basic arm and leg movement and floating assisted front/back for 3 seconds.

Preschool Swimming Level 1

(Ages 3-5 years) This class is for participants who can submerge and who are comfortable in the water. Various swimming and safety skills will be taught. Activities will teach fundamental skills, such as floating and basic movement in water. Some of the requirements to pass this class may include, but not limited to floating on front/back unassisted.

Preschool Swimming Level 2

(Ages 3-5 years) This class is for participants who are comfortable in the water and can swim but need to learn and or improve a particular stroke or skill. Various swimming and safety skills will be taught. Activities will improve participants’ coordination of arm and leg movement and begin introducing aspects of other strokes. Some of the requirements to pass this class may include, but not limited to back float and glide and combined arm and leg movement on front/back.

Level 1

(Ages 5 years and older) This class is for the non-swimmer who is uncomfortable in the water. Various swimming and safety skills will be taught. Activities will allow the swimmer to explore the water environment. Some of the requirements to pass this class may include, but not limited to floating assisted front/back for 3 seconds.

Level 2

(Ages 5 years and older) This class is for participants who can submerge and who are comfortable in the water. Various swimming and safety skills will be taught. Activities will allow the participant to acquire primary swimming skills. Some of the requirements to pass this class may include, but not limited to swimming for five yards front and back.

Level 3

(Ages 5 years and older or those that pass preschool levels) This class is for participants who can swim but are learning to develop their strokes. Various swimming and safety skills will be taught. Activities will allow the participant to learn and become familiar with basic swimming strokes. Some of the requirements to pass this class may include, but not limited to swimming the front and back crawl and swimming in the deep end.

Level 4

(Ages 5 years and older or those that pass preschool levels and Level 3)  This class is for the swimmer who is developing the crawl, back crawl and elementary back strokes. Various swimming, diving and safety skills will be taught. Some of the requirements to pass this class may include, but not limited to swimming front crawl with side breathing, back crawl, and breaststroke.

Level 5

(Ages 5 years and older) This class is for the swimmer who needs to refine the basic strokes and learn more advanced strokes. Various swimming, diving and safety skills will be taught. Some of the requirements to pass this class may include, but not limited to swimming front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, and butterfly.

Level 6

(Ages 5 years and older) This class is for the swimmer who has refined, and is becoming more proficient in the advanced strokes. Various swimming, diving and safety skills will be taught. Some of the requirements to pass this class may include, but not limited to swimming each stroke for 50 yards and having a strong understanding of pool safety.

Lesson Refund Policy - Cash refunds will not be given for swim lessons. Credits may be extended, minus a $5 admin fee, for any other pool service. A $5 transfer fee will be charged when class time, class level, or session is changed.

Adult Water Aerobics

Punch passes available to purchase

  • $25 for a ten punch pass

Aerobics patrons must enter through building with punch pass/season pass.

Adult Lap Swim

Adult lap lanes are available at the following times:

Morning Lap Swim (Days TBD):

  • 6:00 AM - 6:45 AM Multiple lanes open
