Lifeguard Training
Class space is limited and early registration is strongly suggested!
Certification is available upon the completion of the course (25 hours, 100% attendance required). The course materials are included in the cost of the class and will be provided on the first day of the course. A skills test is given on the first day of class (class fee refunds minus the $5 non-refundable fee are given to those who fail this test).
- Must swim continously for 300 yards using the front crawl or breaststroke, or a combination of both
- Must be 15 years old by the end of the last day of the course (Must provide proof of age on the first day of class)
- Must tread water, without using arms, in 7-8 ft of water continuously for 2 minutes
- Must retrieve 10lb brick from 9ft of water, 25 yards away, swim back to the pool's edge and exit the pool
Participants must pass all written and skills tests to receive certification. CPR and First Aid certifications are included in this course. All classes are held at the Veterans Memorial Pool in Pleasant Grove (582 East 300 South), some classes may be offered online for blended learning BUT all water skills must be completed in person!
All Lifeguard Training for 2024 has been cancelled due to the pool not opening.

**Half of the fee will be refunded if you are employed by the Pleasant Grove Pool. The other half will be refunded if you finish the season, in good standing, at the Pleasant Grove Pool.
Lifeguard Recertification
For those that originally certified through Pleasant Grove and who need to recertify register below. Dates are April 26 and May 3.
