 Covid Update:

In-person tutoring has resumed for the 2022-23 school year!

We will continue to provide online tutoring as an option.

We have openings for students in grades K-12 who need help with reading. Volunteers are also needed to work with our students. Caring individuals age 14 and up are welcome to become volunteer tutors. For more information, contact Linda Butler at pgliteracycenter@gmail.com or 801-922-4562.

Mission Statement

The goal of the Pleasant Grove Literacy Center is to offer effective one-on-one training to help families and individuals develop the necessary literacy skills to thrive in society, and find value in their work and personal lives.

Make a Difference

The Center is a unique community resource for building literacy, academic ability, and a love for reading and writing. However, the Literacy Center needs volunteer tutors to bring these advantages into the lives of its participants. The Center can only serve as many students as it has tutors to support, and many people are deferred to a waiting list. Tutoring requires no previous experience—the program is simple, effective, and easy to follow. The Center's director is on hand to provide materials and answer any questions. For as little as one hour a week, you can make a difference in someone's life. Come be a tutor and friend. The gift of education changes lives forever.
