UPDATE:  May 6, 2020

Pleasant Grove City Facilities

While following direction from Governor Herbert, Pleasant Grove City is planning a slow, phased opening with our facilities. 

Recreation Center
Re-Opening Date: Friday, May 8
Hours of Operation: 
Monday - Friday: 5 am - 12 pm; 4 pm - 8pm
Saturdays: 7 am - 12 pm

This will be a modified opening with restrictions.

Before you attend the recreation center, we ask that you visit the Pleasant Grove Recreation Facebook page for a detailed list of those restrictions and protocols.

The Pleasant Grove Library is working to expand their Curbside Book Check-out which will include additional days and hours.  

Updates will be posted on the Pleasant Grove City Library Facebook page.

City Hall, Public Works, Community Development, Fire and Police Department
These facilities will continue to operate under regular business hours.  Each facility is operating By Appointment Only and responding to e-mail and phone calls. Please contact these departments to make an appointment.

Parks and Playgrounds
Playgrounds will remain closed until further notice from the state. Areas around the playgrounds are open.

A decision has not been made yet regarding the opening of the pool as we are waiting for direction from the state

Recreation Center and Recreation Programs
The Pleasant Grove Recreation Center will remain closed indefinitely due to Covid-19 precautions.
Pleasant Grove Recreation programs are being evaluated at this time. We will let you know what will be
canceled and what will be postponed at a later time. If a program is canceled we will work with you on
refunding your registration fee. We will not be taking any new registrations until we know which
programs we will be offering.
Pavilion rentals at all parks will not be taken for the month of April. Pavilion use will be first come, first
served. We ask that you keep your gatherings to 10 or less people.

Library Programs
Pleasant Grove Public Library will be offering a Drive Up Library Service.
Pick up is offered on Mondays from 3:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. and Thursdays from 12:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.

or by calling the Library at (801) 785-3950. If you call please leave a clear, detailed message with your
name, phone number and library card number along with the titles of the items you wish to check out.
When you come to pick them up, call the Library at (801) 785-3950. Library staff will check the items
out to your account and bring them to the Library entrance for you to pick up after you show us your
Library card or ID. As a safety measure, Library staff will not take the items to your car. Staff will also
limit the total number of items to 15 per vehicle. During this time, the maximum number of holds
allowed is 15.
Online Storytime will be offered starting Monday, March 30 th at 11:00 a.m. The Storytime will be on
YouTube and a link will be provided on the Library website and their Facebook Page.

Dear Friends and Neighbors,
In the last few weeks, the world, our nation and our community has experienced an unprecedented change in the way we live our lives due to the COVID-19 virus. We have seen our community come together like never before. It is with grateful appreciation that we say thank you for
the support you have shown to our local business owners, local teachers and staff who continue to provide education for our students and each other as friends and neighbors. We encourage this kindness and outpouring of support to continue as we weather this storm together.
As your local government, we want to assure you that essential city services will continue to operate. Other departments have made modifications to allow for online participation. The following is the status of each department in Pleasant Grove City:

Public Works/Utilities
Our Public Works department continues to provide clean and safe drinking water, road projects are moving forward and secondary water will be turned on May 1st.

In partnership with Republic Services, waste and recycling pick up service will continue as scheduled. City clean-up days are scheduled for April 17-25 at the Pipe Plant.

Senior Citizens
The Senior Center will remain closed until further notice. Seniors will have access to healthy meals through the
Mountainland Association of Governments (MAG).

Outdoor Facilities/Parks
Outdoor facilities including the Murdock Canal Trail, Valley Vista Bike Trail, local hiking trails, parks and other open space will remain open. Common sense practices including social distancing should be used at all outdoor facilities.

Public Meetings
Continuing to conduct city business in the public eye is a priority for elected officials. The City will continue to live stream meetings, receive public comment online and communicate with residents through the use of technology.
Recreation Center
The Recreation Center will remain closed until further notice. However, staff is providing online fitness classes available on the Pleasant Grove Recreation Center Facebook page. As well, staff is available to answer questions about classes, athletics and passes.

UPDATE: March 13, 2020

Pleasant Grove Friends and Neighbors,

After careful consideration Pleasant Grove City will be implementing the following protocols:

  1. Closure of the Pleasant Grove Senior Center effective at 1:00 pm today, Friday, March 13 until March 30, 2020. We will work with the Meals on Wheels program to create a system for box lunches to be available over the next two weeks to seniors in the community.
  2. Closure of the Pleasant Grove Recreation Center effective at 4:00 pm today, Friday, March 13 until March 30, 2020. All Recreation programs and events will be postponed. We will announce the rescheduling or cancellation of these programs and events at a later time.
  3. Closure of the Pleasant Grove Library effective at 4:00 pm today, Friday, March 13 until March 30, 2020. All Library programs and events will be postponed. We will announce the rescheduling or cancellation of these programs and events at a later time.
  4. All other city services will maintain normal business hours and remain open. Emergency and essential services including Police, Fire and Public Works will remain our top priority. If you need to contact city personnel, please do so through e-mail or phone to limit in person contact. 
  5. Pleasant Grove City Council will continue their regular meeting schedule. The next meeting is Tuesday, March 17. Meetings are live streamed on our YouTube channel: Pleasant Grove City.

This situation is fluid and unprecedented. Daily evaluations will be held by the Mayor, Council and staff regarding City operations. We will keep you regularly updated on our website and via social media.
