booksaThe Program

We are excited to offer an additional program for babies/toddlers this year!
Rubber Ducky Readers (ages 0-36 months): Set a goal to TALK, SING, READ, WRITE, or PLAY each day with your child, using the suggested activities in the registration packet.

Word Wizards (ages 3-7): Set a goal for the number of minutes you will read each day (minimum 15 minutes) for 5 days per week.

Book Busters (ages 8-12): Set a goal for the number of minutes you will read each day (minimum 15 minutes) for 5 days per week.


Tracking: Track your reading on the paper reading log provided with registration. Mark one symbol for each day you meet your reading goal.

Halfway Prize: Halfway prizes may be claimed starting June 27. When you have finished at least 3 weeks of your reading goal, come to the library to receive a prize!

Final Prize: Final prizes may be claimed from July 25 – 31. When you have completed your reading log, come to the library to receive your final prize and a ticket to the End of Summer Reading Party!

End of Summer Reading Party: Thursday, July 27, 8:15 – 10:00 p.m.
Exclusive pool party for those who finish the Summer Reading program. Swimming, games, and treats at the Pleasant Grove Veteran’s Memorial Pool, 582 East 300 South.

plantSummer Activities for Kids

Summer Reading Kick-off: Thursday, June 8, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Big equipment petting zoo, games & activities, treats

Verbal Judo Training & Service Project: Thursday, July 6, 10:00 a.m. Learn how to handle bullying using Verbal Judo, presented by Warrior Way, then help stuff backpacks with school supplies for children in need. You won’t want to miss this! More information and a school supply list can be found here.

 Weekly Activities/Story Times: Tuesday & Wednesday, 9:30, 10:30, or 11:30 for Word Wizards and Book Busters (ages 3-12). Age specific activities, stories and music.

100 Acts of Kindness Challenge: Do 100 nice things for others this summer, and track your progress on the library display!

 Lego Club: Tuesdays 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. for ages 5 – 12. Use your creativity to build whatever you like! Duplos and Legos provided.

 Monday Movies: 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. in the downstairs theater. Check dates, times and titles in your Summer Reading registration packet, or click here
